Ice Super Truck adventure for a day - Ultimate Ice-land
This adventurous one-day super truck tour takes you to the South coast with an added glacier activity.
The day starts off with a visit to one of Iceland’s most famous and fascinating waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss. Here you can walk behind the falling water and experience something different. But you need to be careful as the trail is narrow and most of the time a bit slippery. Extra caution is required during winter, and proper footwear is recommended. This is one of the most photographed places in Iceland and for a good reason. During the winter, the waterfall is lit up so you can enjoy it’s magic all year round.
Next stop is at one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland, the impressive Skógafoss. Much of the glacial water originates in the two glaciers Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. Due to the amount of water vapor by the waterfall rainbows are usually visible on sunny days. And it also means that you’re likely to get wet if you get up close. But you should definitely take those extra steps as it’s quite inspiring to standing close to the falling water. The Skógafoss area is also the starting point for those who take the hike over Fimmvörðuháls to Þórsmörk, one of the most popular hiking routes in Iceland.
From Skógafoss we go to the edge of Sólheimajökull glacier tongue where you will have the opportunity to take a unique glacier walk. The glacier is a magnificent place with its blue ice formations and ever-changing ancient frozen water world. You will be accompanied by an expert glacier guide, and we will provide you with appropriate gear: crampons, ice axes, and helmets to make sure you are safe on this ice adventure.
