Hiking is the most exciting way to travel in Iceland. During the summer months of June through August, the Icelandic Highland is a paradise for hikers.  With the right preparation, good knowledge of the terrain and the proper gear you can find a spectacular hiking trail that is both secure and a good challenge.  There are many hiking trails all over Iceland with hidden gems and natural wonders that you are not able to visit in a vehicle. Gems that are only accessible on your two legs. Places in the Westfjords, in the Northern and Southern regions in Iceland and last but not least in the Highlands.  Hiking gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself while walking through a magnificent landscape and come in proximity with some spectacular natural wonders in isolated and peaceful places. On most hiking trails you will have rivers, creeks, exotic scenery, waterfalls, cliffs, mountains, canyons, hot springs, lava, craters and many other interesting things of nature. You will also encounter a mental challenge which makes preparation and knowledge fundamental. And the reward is lifelong, a trip you will alway remember and treasure.
